An explosive device killed 13 people traveling on a bus in southwestern Colombia, leaving at least 38 injured. The country's army chief described the attack as a 'terrorist act.'

The device was set off while the bus was traveling along the Panamerican Highway in the municipality of Cajibio, with five children among the injured.

The attack is linked to drug trafficking in the region and has escalated violence, with at least 26 incidents taking place in the past two days.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro condemned the attack, calling those responsible 'terrorists, fascists, and drug traffickers.'

The government has offered a reward of over $1 million for information leading to the capture of the leader of the region's dissident group.
