Coral Springs Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen was found dead in her home on April 1, sparking a police investigation into her death. Her husband, Stephen Bowen, is now in custody, authorities confirmed.
Nancy, 38, was shot dead just three months after her brother died by suicide. Police Chief Brad Mock said the case is being investigated as a 'domestic violence incident.'
Stephen, 40, was booked into the Broward County jail in Fort Lauderdale. He was listed as the chief operating officer of Men of St. Luke, a religious and fraternal nonprofit organization.
Nancy was first elected to the Coral Springs City Commission in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. She was appointed as vice mayor last November.
