The Congressional Black Caucus has written to over 250 major US corporations, urging them to publicly reject Republican-led redistricting efforts that could eliminate majority-Black congressional districts.

The caucus argues that these efforts are an attempt to silence Black voices at the ballot box and is calling on corporations to meet with them to discuss protecting voting rights and sharing details about political donations to Republican politicians.

Caucus Chair Rep Yvette Clarke stated that corporations that have profited from Black consumers and workers cannot remain silent while Black political representation is dismantled.

The targeted corporations include Apple, Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and others that previously pledged support for voting rights and racial justice causes.

The push comes after a recent US Supreme Court ruling weakened the Voting Rights Act, making it easier for Republican-led states to redraw congressional maps.

States such as Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina have become key battlegrounds in these redistricting fights, with President Donald Trump encouraging Texas lawmakers to redraw maps to create more Republican seats.
