A Pennsylvania woman, Vanessa O'Rourke, is on the run after allegedly faking a terminal brain cancer diagnosis to collect donations for luxury trips to Australia.
According to federal authorities, O'Rourke, 37, used her claims to solicit money from friends, family members, and supporters between 2015 and 2016.
She allegedly told supporters she needed experimental medical care in Australia, but investigators say no treatment took place during her trips.
Instead, she spent time sightseeing and engaging in recreational activities, using the funds to finance two trips to Australia in 2016.
O'Rourke was indicted on 15 counts of wire fraud in 2018 and remains a fugitive while the investigation continues.
