Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane was allegedly kidnapped from his Dallas studio in a targeted attack involving Memphis rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30. The incident, which occurred on January 10, was linked to a row over Gucci Mane's record label, 1017 Records, to which Pooh Shiesty is signed.
According to the Department of Justice, the suspects, including Pooh Shiesty's father, Lontrell Williams Sr., were arrested in Nashville, Memphis, and Dallas. The arrest was announced after a three-month investigation into the incident.
The DOJ stated that Pooh Shiesty and Big30 travelled to the Dallas studio to negotiate a contract for one of the victims, but the talks turned sour, leading to the kidnapping and robbery. The suspects allegedly forced Gucci Mane to sign a release for Shiesty from the 1017 Records and stole cash and a Rolex watch from the studio.
The suspects, including Pooh Shiesty, his father, and Big30, face multiple charges related to robbery and kidnapping. If convicted, they could face life imprisonment.
