Indian Student Stabbed to Death in Canada's Niagara: Family Demands Body Return

A 22-year-old Indian student, Vidhi Megha, was stabbed to death in Canada's Niagara region on May 15. The student, who had been living in Canada for three years for higher education, was allegedly attacked by an unidentified person.

Megha was assaulted in broad daylight and suffered fatal stab wounds. Bystanders immediately took her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

The victim's father, Kalpeshbhai Megha, has requested the Centre to return his daughter's body to India for the final rites. Gujarat Cabinet Minister Ramanbhai Solanki has offered his condolences to the family and has spoken to the CMO and PMO to ensure the body is returned without delay.

Canadian police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the murder, but officials have not released detailed information regarding the suspect or possible reasons behind the assault.
