Iran will shift the management of the strategic Strait of Hormuz into a new phase, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said in a statement read out on state television.

"Iran is not seeking war but will not forfeit its rights and considers all resistance fronts as a unified entity," Khamenei said.

He urged Iranians to remain vocal in their protests, saying "your voices in public squares are undoubtedly influential in the outcome of the negotiations."

The comments come as Iran and the US agreed to a fragile two-week ceasefire, which could pave the way for peace negotiations.

Khamenei's statement also referenced the ongoing conflict in Lebanon, where Israeli strikes have killed over 300 people.

The Iranian leader warned of "STRONG responses" if attacks on its ally Hezbollah continue, amid disagreements over whether the ceasefire extends to the militant group.
