US President Donald Trump is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in an attempt to convince him to help end the maritime strangulation caused by the ongoing US war on Iran.
The global landscape has been fractured since the unprovoked war began on February 28, triggered by coordinated US and Israeli strikes on Iranian infrastructure.
With the Strait of Hormuz remaining closed to commercial shipping and over 1,500 vessels stranded, Trump is expected to pressure Xi to leverage Beijing's influence over Tehran to reopen the waterway and facilitate a lasting ceasefire.
However, an advisor to Iran's supreme leader has warned that Trump should not mistake the current lack of fighting between the US and Iran as a victory.
According to a report, the majority of Iran's missile network remains intact despite Trump's claims that it had been 'decimated'.
