Iran has issued a fresh warning over the US plan to blockade the Strait of Hormuz, cautioning that any move targeting its ports would have a ripple effect across neighboring countries.

The spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said that if the security of Iranian ports is threatened, 'no port in the Persian Gulf or Gulf of Oman would remain secure.'

The US military said it will move ahead with a blockade of Iranian ports and coastal areas from Monday, following reports that limited ship movement had resumed through the Strait after the announcement of a two-week ceasefire.

US President Donald Trump said that American forces would intercept any vessel in international waters found to have paid a toll to Iran, and that the US Navy would begin clearing mines that Iran had deployed in the Strait of Hormuz.
