Iran's top leadership is facing a major crisis as President Masoud Pezeshkian and Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf seek to remove Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi over his alleged alignment with the IRGC.

The move comes as Iran navigates tensions with the US, with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei absent from public view and US President Donald Trump expressing confusion over Tehran's leadership.

According to sources, Araghchi has been acting without informing Pezeshkian, instead following the instructions of Revolutionary Guard chief Ahmad Vahidi in nuclear talks.

The rift between Pezeshkian and Vahidi is reportedly over the handling of the war and its consequences for the country's economy and people's livelihoods.

Meanwhile, Ghalibaf-led negotiations have been marred by internal divisions within Iran's legislature, with hardline lawmakers declining to support the negotiating team.
