Police in Zanzibar are holding Joe McCann, the fiancé of late influencer Ashlee Jenae, after her death in a Tanzania hotel. The 31-year-old Miami-based lifestyle influencer was found dead just days after her engagement to McCann.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in Zanzibar said police are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the actual cause of death, with a post-mortem examination being done at Lumumba Hospital in Unguja.
McCann's passport has been 'withheld' by local police, who are understood to be treating him as a witness. However, Ashlee's loved ones have rejected the claim that she took her own life, with her close friend saying 'she would never commit suicide.'
