Khajag Basmajian, a 31-year-old software engineer, was identified as the man killed in a murder-suicide at a North Hills home in Los Angeles on May 27, 2026.
He was found with his two children, Ella (2 years and 6 days old) and Alec (2 years old), and a woman whose identity has not been released pending confirmation from the family.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner's office described Basmajian's ethnicity as Middle Eastern or North African.
According to investigators, the shooter was the mother, who shot her children before turning the gun on Basmajian.
The police have confirmed the case as a murder-suicide and are not looking for any suspects.
A neighbor reported that the mother might have been dealing with mental health issues, possibly postpartum depression, but this has not been confirmed by authorities.
