Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group's co-founder Amir Hamza suffered bullet injuries in an attack on Thursday in Lahore. Two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the vehicle of 24 NewsHD, a TV channel owned by Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

Hamza, the second most important leader in LeT, was in the vehicle along with Justice (ret) Nazir Ahmed Ghazi, the host of a religious programme on 24 NewsHD. While Hamza suffered bullet injuries to his arm, Ghazi remained unhurt.

This is the second attack on Hamza in a year, with the first incident occurring in May last year. Hamza is the second most important leader in LeT after its chief Hafiz Saeed, who has been in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail since 2019.

The police have launched a probe into the incident and are using CCTV footage to trace the attackers. Hamza has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
