Residents of Lake Elsinore, California, have reported seeing smoke and darkened skies, prompting many to take to social media to ask whether a fire is burning in the city.

According to CAL FIRE, two new incidents were reported on April 3: The Springs Fire in Riverside County, which has grown to approximately 1,500 acres, and the Crown Fire in Los Angeles County, which has burned 280 acres.

Neither fire is reported within Lake Elsinore or posing an immediate threat. However, the smoke observed in the city could be drifting from these nearby fires.

The Springs Fire has ignited along Gilman Springs Road in Moreno Valley, California, and has prompted evacuation orders and warnings for several zones. The Crown Fire has also prompted evacuation orders and warnings for several zones in Los Angeles County.
