Update (4:39pm EDT): Miami-Dade Fire Rescue shared a fresh update on the situation, confirming that “over 60 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units are on scene of an incident involving a plane that overran a runway and struck multiple vehicles near Miami International Airport.” The department added that “units arrived to find an airplane that had caught on fire as a result of this crash, with heavy flames and smoke showing.”It further said that “firefighters are working on extinguishing the fire and assessing patients.” As per the BBC, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue also said its crews "received reports of a hazardous situation involving a plane that overran a runway and struck multiple vehicles" at 1:55pm local time. The statement added that there were "multiple patients" at the scene, per BBC. As per the FAA, 21 Air Flight 7598 ran off the end of the runway after touching down at Miami International Airport around 2pm local time on Sunday, September 6.They wrote, “Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft departed from Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
