Emergency crews responded to reports of a possible explosion west of Haulover Beach Marina in Miami around 12:50 p.m. Responders found multiple injured individuals, prompting an immediate escalation to a Level 2 Mass Casualty Incident.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue initially reported 15 people were transported to hospitals, but later clarified that 11 patients were admitted for treatment. Injuries ranged from minor wounds to burns and traumatic injuries.
Authorities have not yet determined what caused the reported explosion.
