A record high temperature of 51.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Dadu, Pakistan, as a severe heat wave gripped large parts of Sindh province.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department reported that Dadu's previous highest temperature was 51.4 degrees Celsius on May 18, 2016.
Other areas in Sindh, including Jacobabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, and Mohenjodaro, also experienced extremely high temperatures, with some areas reaching 50 degrees Celsius.
Chief meteorologist Sarfaraz Khan warned that more hot and dry weather is forecasted for Sindh and Balochistan provinces, cautioning people to avoid direct sunlight.
Pakistan is ranked among the countries most vulnerable to climate change and extreme weather, having faced increasing heatwaves, floods, and droughts in recent years.
