Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured US Chargé d'affaires Natalie Baker that the country will provide foolproof security to the visiting US delegation ahead of talks with Iran.
The talks, set to take place in Islamabad, aim to bring a peaceful end to the West Asia conflict, which broke out on February 28.
A 30-member advance team from the US has already arrived in Islamabad to review security arrangements, and a hotel within the Red Zone has been reserved for the delegations.
The Red Zone will remain sealed during the delegates' stay, with some entry points to the capital closed and heightened security deployed.
State-run rescue departments and hospitals have been put on high alert, with staff and essential supplies on standby.
