As Oracle undergoes massive workforce reduction, a striking case of a pregnant software engineer laid off through a 6 AM email has surfaced on social media. The affected employee, 30 weeks pregnant, received an email from the company leadership without any prior warning or meeting.

The employee's husband, a senior account executive, slammed the company for its handling of the layoffs, stating that his wife was a talented and hardworking individual who deserved better than an email. He expressed his concerns, highlighting her contributions to the company, including building products, shipping code, and mentoring interns.

The layoff email, reviewed by Business Insider, read, 'We are sharing some difficult news regarding your position. After careful consideration of Oracle's current business needs, we have made the decision to eliminate your role as part of a broader organizational change.' The email also mentioned that the employee would be eligible to receive a severance package subject to the terms and conditions of the severance plan.

The employee's husband has called for recruiters to consider his wife for new opportunities, stating that she is ready for what's next. The woman herself has shared a LinkedIn post, expressing her gratitude for the experience and thanking her mentors.
