Slack, the cloud-based team communication platform, faced a massive outage on Wednesday, leaving thousands of users affected. Over 3,000 people complained of issues on Downdetector, with some facing problems with attachments and messaging.

Users reported that attachments were not opening, while others had trouble with messaging. However, the mobile version of the app seemed to be working fine for most.

Slack addressed the issue, stating that the Engineering team was investigating severe latency impacting all services. The impacted services included login, connectivity, messaging, files, and more.

For users facing issues with messages, checking internet connection and app outages is recommended. Clearing the app cache, updating the server, and logging out and back in can also help.

For attachment issues, checking file restrictions, clearing the app cache, and retrying can be tried. However, since the issue is on Slack's end, user-level fixes are unlikely to resolve the problems.

The number of complaints has decreased drastically, with around 700 people facing troubles on Downdetector. However, the Slack report page has not provided an update on the resolution.
