US President Donald Trump said Thursday that Iran has agreed to hand over its stockpile of enriched uranium and that the two sides were 'close' to a peace deal after six weeks of conflict.
Trump told reporters at the White House that Iran has agreed to give up its nuclear ambitions and hand over nuclear material, in exchange for 'free oil' and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran has not publicly confirmed making any of these concessions, but Trump expressed optimism about the deal's prospects, saying 'there's a very good chance we're going to make a deal.'
Trump also announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, aimed at easing broader regional tensions.
