Amid uncertainty over the Iran-US war, the White House shared a message depicting President Donald Trump as the one who 'neutralised enemies'. The post featured Trump with pictures of Nicolas Maduro, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Abu-Bilal Al-Minuki, and Raul Castro, with labels such as 'arrested', 'killed' or 'indicted' beneath each one.
The post comes after the US government indicted Castro in connection to a fatal attack on two civilian planes in 1996. Castro has been charged with destruction of the aircraft and four counts of murder borne out of conspiracy against US nationals.
The graphic reinstates a recent hard-lining in US foreign policy under President Donald Trump's second term, which has projected a larger 'America First' narrative focused on national security and aggressive counter-terrorism.
While many condemned the stance, many others applauded it for enhancing accountability against the US's adversaries. The current US and Israel war against Iran remains in a stalemate, with President Trump's claims on Monday that he had been 'an hour away' from ordering fresh strikes.
