President Donald Trump has revealed that a 'massive military complex' is being built underneath the $400 million White House ballroom project, which he claimed was meant to remain secret.

The project, which includes a 90,000-square-foot ballroom that can host up to 1,000 guests, has drawn criticism for being too large compared to the rest of the White House.

A lawsuit was filed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, arguing that the project was built without the required approvals or authorization from Congress.

Trump has defended the need for the ballroom, saying the White House has lacked such a space for many years and that it will be the 'finest ballroom of its kind anywhere in the world.'

The military component of the project was originally meant to be kept secret, but Trump revealed it during a Cabinet meeting, saying it was 'supposed to be secret, but it became secret because of people that are really unpatriotic saying things.'

The construction is also allowing officials to upgrade a secret bunker under the East Wing, which was originally built during President Franklin D Roosevelt's time to protect the president during World War II.
