US President Donald Trump announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, stating that both countries had agreed to the truce. Trump claimed this would be his 10th war halted, and he invited leaders of both countries for talks.

According to Trump, officials from Israel and Lebanon met in Washington DC on Tuesday, in the presence of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, for the first time in 34 years.

Trump directed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Rubio to work with Israel and Lebanon to achieve a lasting peace, stating that both countries 'want to see peace' and that it would 'happen quickly.'

However, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun refused to speak to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, citing the ongoing conflict and fragile ceasefire between the US and Iran.
