US President Donald Trump has announced a comprehensive blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil passage, in response to what he termed 'WORLD EXTORTION' by Iran.
Trump stated that the US will guarantee no ships paying tolls to Iran will be permitted to pass through the Strait, following failed peace talks in Pakistan.
The US President denounced Iran for its unwillingness to compromise on its nuclear agenda, calling it 'the only point that really mattered.'
Trump wrote on Truth Social that the US Navy will begin blocking ships entering or leaving the Strait, citing Iran's use of drones and missiles to discourage oil vessels from navigating the vital chokepoint.
Iran has sought to impose a toll of $1 per barrel of oil for vessels to pass through safely, and has reportedly laid mines in the Strait, although it has lost track of their locations.
The US-Iran peace talks in Pakistan, led by Vice President JD Vance, yielded no conclusive results, with Trump maintaining continuous communication with his team throughout the negotiations.
