US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has stated that the US 'would go as far as we need to go' to achieve its war goals in Iran, amid ongoing military operations.

Hegseth made the statement during a press conference at the Pentagon, where he was joined by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine.

The military operation, dubbed 'Epic Fury,' is expected to take some time to conclude, with officials refraining from providing a precise timeline.

Gen. Caine stated that the military objectives will take 'some time to achieve, and in some cases will be difficult and gritty work.'

The US has suffered losses in the conflict, with four US service members killed, and officials have warned that additional losses are expected.

Iran's security chief has vowed to defend the nation at any cost, with the Islamic Republic marking its third day of conflict with the US and Israel.
