As part of the NEET-UG re-examination process on June 21, 36 senior officials designated by the Union education ministry will be deployed across states and Union Territories to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience for students.

The decision was made during a high-level review meeting chaired by Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and efficiency in the examination process.

The officials will report to a command centre in Delhi headed by National Testing Agency (NTA) director general Abhishek Singh and will work closely with state nodal officers to ensure that students have all necessary facilities to appear for the re-examination in a stress-free environment.

This move comes after the NEET-UG 2026 examination was called off on May 12 following allegations of a paper leak, affecting over 2.27 million candidates who had appeared for the May 3 examination.
