Prateek Yadav, the 38-year-old son of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, died in Lucknow on Wednesday morning. He was rushed to the hospital after being reported unwell and was declared dead by 5.55 am.
Prateek was the half-brother of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and was married to Bharatiya Janata Party leader Aparna Yadav in 2011. However, the couple later sought divorce.
Despite coming from a prominent political family, Prateek largely stayed away from politics and instead pursued a career in real estate and fitness. He owned a gym in Lucknow and was known for his interest in fitness entrepreneurship.
Prateek was also an animal lover and worked towards rescuing, treating, and caring for stray dogs and other animals through his organisation ‘Jeev Ashray’.
