New Delhi: In a significant move, the Union government has announced the relocation of five additional ministries as part of its ambitious Central Vista redevelopment plan. The ministries of Youth Affairs and Sports, Social Justice and Empowerment, Women and Child Development, Tribal Affairs, and Corporate Affairs will be shifting to new office spaces in Netaji Nagar and Kartavya Bhawan. The relocation plan, which was announced in two office memorandums, aims to improve coordination, security, and infrastructure for central government employees. The ministries of Youth Affairs and Sports, Social Justice and Empowerment, and Women and Child Development will be moving from Shastri Bhawan and Sankalp Bhawan to Netaji Nagar, while the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs will be relocating to Kartavya Bhawan-01. To ensure a smooth transition, each ministry has been instructed to appoint a nodal officer to coordinate with facilitation desks. The relocation plan is part of the Union government's broader effort to house all ministries across 10 integrated secretariat buildings, which is expected to benefit over 70,000 central government employees. This move follows the inauguration of the first new Common Central Secretariat building, Kartavya Bhawan (KB) 3, by Prime Minister Modi in August. The home and finance ministries have already moved to KB3 and KB1, marking significant progress in the Central Vista redevelopment project.
