Raghav Chadha, along with six other Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MPs, has quit the party and merged with the BJP. This comes days after Chadha was removed as AAP's deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha.
Chadha said that two-thirds of the AAP MPs in the Rajya Sabha are merging with the BJP, exercising the provisions of the Constitution of India.
Apart from Chadha, the six other AAP MPs merging with the BJP include Ashok Mittal, Sandeep Pathak, Harbhajan Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Vikram Sahney and Swati Maliwal.
AAP leader Sanjay Singh has said he will seek the disqualification of Chadha, Mittal and Pathak from the Upper House for joining the BJP.
Chadha said he felt like the 'right man in the wrong party' and had nurtured AAP 'with my blood and sweat', but the party had 'deviated from its principles, values and core morals.'
