A case has been registered against an actress and her family for allegedly cheating a London-based software engineer of ₹9.35 crore on the pretext of marriage.
The complainant, a 60-year-old man, alleged that his son was duped by the actress, who claimed to be an actress and a master's degree holder from the USA.
She met his son in 2018 through mutual friends and told him she would marry him, but repeatedly delayed the marriage and took large sums of money and purchased properties, vehicles, and gold in his name.
When her son asked her to repay the money and return the gold, she refused and threatened him with false cases.
The complainant's son suffered huge financial loss and mental stress over the false promise of marriage and approached the police seeking action against the actress and her family.
