Air Force Staffer Arrested for Spying for Pakistan, Shared Sensitive Info Since 2023

A civilian employee posted at Assam's Chabua Air Force Station was arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan and sharing sensitive information with Pakistani handlers.

The accused, Sumit Kumar (36), was arrested in a joint operation by Rajasthan Intelligence and Air Force Intelligence.

Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, used his position as a multi-tasking staff (MTS) to gather information about the air force station and shared it with his Pakistani handlers using social media.

He was found to be in touch with Pakistani agents constantly and received money in return for sharing sensitive information since 2023.

The case was registered under relevant sections of the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and the BNS, 2023.
