Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday dismissed criticism of the Amaravati capital city project, calling it 'unstoppable.' Naidu said that some people are jealous of the project's rapid progress and are trying to stall it. However, he emphasized that the project is on track to become a world-class city. Naidu made the comments at a private college in Vijayawada, where he also highlighted the project's unique features, including a quantum computer that will be operational within six months. The computer will be the first of its kind in the region and will offer courses on quantum algorithms. However, the opposition YSRCP has raised several concerns about the project, including the treatment of farmers whose land was acquired for the project. Senior leader S. Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that the government has ignored farmers' problems and is hastening the second phase of land pooling without resolving the issues of the first phase. Reddy claimed that the government has spent only ₹5,000 crore on Amaravati in the past five years, which is a fraction of the ₹1 lakh crore required for the first phase development. He also accused the government of turning Amaravati into a 'hub of scams' and questioned the need for an oversized secretariat. Naidu's remarks come as the opposition continues to raise questions about the project's feasibility and the government's handling of the project. The government has maintained that the project is on track and will be completed on time.
