Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, pressing for a statutory status for Amaravati as the state's capital. This move, he believes, will accelerate development and boost investor confidence. The meeting comes after Naidu's visit to the Polavaram project, where he highlighted the importance of policy certainty for the state's long-term growth. During the discussions, Naidu emphasized the need for formal legislative recognition of Amaravati, which he claims will fulfill the aspirations of the state's people. He also raised concerns about the Centre-State funding ratio, citing the 60:40 ratio as an additional financial burden on Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister sought alternative financial support and flexibility, acknowledging the Centre's past support in helping the state recover from financial stress. The meeting also covered ongoing development projects, welfare schemes, and recent developments in the state. Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah is set to inaugurate the National IED Data Management System (NIDMS), a digital platform aimed at strengthening India's counter-IED and internal security architecture. The system, developed by the National Security Guard (NSG), will enable the systematic collection, collation, and dissemination of data related to Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). This unified, data-driven approach is expected to improve preparedness and response to IED threats by allowing investigators to identify patterns, track trends, and draw actionable insights from past incidents.
