Axis My India, one of India's prominent pollsters, has yet to release its exit poll findings for West Bengal, citing a low voter response rate. The pollster plans to share its findings on Thursday, April 30, but only if it obtains a sufficiently representative sample.
Pradeep Gupta, founder of Axis My India, stated in an interview that 60% of voters in Bengal were afraid to speak up, making it challenging to gather accurate data. The pollster aims to speak with voters from the second phase on Thursday to improve the sample size.
West Bengal voted in two phases on April 23 and 29 across 294 seats, with the results set to be announced on May 4. The Trinamool Congress is looking to secure a fourth consecutive term, while the Bharatiya Janata Party aims to create history by winning in Bengal for the first time.
Other pollsters have predicted a close contest between the two main parties. Matrize projected the TMC+ to fall short of the majority mark, while P-Marq predicted the BJP to take the lead. Polls Poll Diary and People's Pulse offered varying projections, with the latter suggesting the incumbent TMC government may retain power.
