Popular Bengali actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee died in Odisha after a drowning accident at Talsari beach. He was 43 years old and is survived by his wife, actor Priyanka Sarkar, and 13-year-old son.

According to co-actor Diganta Bagchi, Banerjee was shooting for a Bengali soap when he went to the beach alone and got entangled in something underwater. Crew members pulled him out of the water, but he was declared brought dead at Digha hospital.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her condolences, calling the actor's passing an 'irreparable loss to the Bengali entertainment industry, Tollywood and television.'

Banerjee was a known face in the Bengali entertainment industry, starring in films like 'Chirodini tumi je amar', 'Tumi asbe bole', and 'Zulfiqar', as well as TV serials such as 'Hargouri pice hotel' and 'Mohonna'.
