Bihar Election: Dr L B Prasad Trails Behind in Dhaka Seat, RJD's Faisal Rahman Lags Behind BJP's Pawan Kumar Jaiswal

In the Bihar Assembly elections, Dr L B Prasad of the Jan Suraaj Party is trailing behind in the Dhaka seat, a general category constituency in Purvi (East) Champaran district. Prasad, a practicing doctor with a clean record, was pitted against Pawan Kumar Jaiswal of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Faisal Rahman of the Rashtriya Janata Dal. Prasad, a member of the Extreme Backward Class, has been involved in social work with his wife, who is also a doctor. His nomination papers reveal that he completed his MBBS from R.M. College and Hospital in Ranchi in 1997 and has assets worth ₹19,22,47,964. The Dhaka constituency has seen a shift in power over the years, with the BJP winning the seat six times and the RJD securing it twice. The seat has a total of over 3 lakh registered voters and had voted 17 times since its establishment in 1951. Jaiswal, the sitting MLA, has been a strong contender in the constituency, having won the seat in 2020 as a BJP candidate. He has assets worth ₹11,76,75,517 and completed his graduation in Sahitya Alankar from the Hindi University in Jharkhand's Deoghar. Rahman, who is contesting on an RJD ticket, has completed his education till Class 10 and has assets worth ₹2,03,86,502. He is the son of late Motiur Rahman, who won the seat twice in 1980 and 1985 as a candidate of the Indian National Congress.
