Rajesh Kumar, the President of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee, is trailing behind Lallan Ram, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate, in the Kutumba assembly constituency. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI) trends at 10:30 am, Lallan Ram, a postgraduate and former MLA, is taking an early lead. Rajesh Kumar, a two-term MLA, has been a prominent figure in Bihar politics since 2010. He has previously won the Kutumba assembly seat in the 2015 and 2020 elections for the Congress party and the Mahagathbandhan. Kumar was appointed as the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee President in March 2025, ahead of the Bihar Assembly election. Lallan Ram, who is contesting from the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) quota, had defected from the Janata Dal (United) due to the party not receiving the Kutumba seat in its quota. Ram has also contested the 2020 polls as an independent, finishing third. The Kutumba constituency, situated in the Aurangabad district, is a reserved seat for the Scheduled Caste (SC). The results of the Bihar assembly election 2025 will be announced on November 14, with the Kutumba seat going to polls on November 11 in the second phase of the election.
