Nitin Nabin's resignation from the Bihar Legislative Assembly has been put on hold as the BJP brainstorms over the next Chief Minister of the state.

Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar had made arrangements for Nabin's resignation, but it was delayed due to some important work.

Nabin and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who were both elected to the Rajya Sabha on March 16, have to resign from one House by March 30.

The BJP is deliberating on a replacement for Nitish Kumar, who has held the chair for two decades, and is seen as a strong leader in the state.

Party insiders said that the final decision would come from the party high-ups after assessing various factors, including the state's complex political realities and factionalism within the state unit.
