The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a show-cause notice to Madhya Pradesh MLA Pritam Lodhi for threatening Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Ayush Jhakar.
Lodhi's son, Dinesh, was involved in a car accident that injured five people, prompting Jhakar to summon him and warn him not to appear in Karera again.
Lodhi responded by threatening to fill Jhakar's house with cow dung and questioning the officer's authority, saying 'Does Karera belong to your [Jhakar] father?'
The BJP has called Lodhi's conduct 'highly objectionable' and a violation of party discipline, and has given him three days to submit a clarification.
