Car Explosion Leaves One Dead, Woman Rescued on Karnataka Highway

A man was charred to death in a suspected case of self-harm after a car explosion on a national highway in Tumakuru district, Karnataka.

The victim, identified as Nagendra (30), had allegedly used a country bomb or a molotov cocktail to set the car on fire near Kallambella in Sira Taluk.

Before the incident, he had attacked a woman inside the car with a knife, but she managed to escape.

The car driver jumped out to rescue her, and an explosion took place, engulfing the car in flames.

Police suspect Nagendra had abducted the woman, Ramya, by force from Bengaluru and are investigating the sequence of events.
