Avadh Ojha, a renowned civil services exam trainer and AAP candidate, has announced his retirement from politics. Ojha, who lost the 2022 Delhi assembly election to the BJP candidate in the Patparganj segment, expressed gratitude to AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders in a heartfelt X post. In the post, Ojha praised Kejriwal as a 'great leader' and thanked AAP workers and leaders for the love and respect they showed him. However, his decision was met with a sharp response from AAP's Somnath Bharti. Bharti, a senior AAP leader, noted that politics is not a short-term project and urged Ojha to reconsider his decision. Bharti emphasized that the party gave Ojha the opportunity to contest from Patparganj, despite others working hard for the party. Bharti also highlighted AAP's commitment to reforms in education, healthcare, and basic needs of ordinary people, setting it apart from other parties. He criticized BJP and Congress leaders for failing to address common people's concerns. Ojha's announcement comes after he expressed his desire to retire from politics in an interview, stating that he will return to his teaching career. The decision has sparked a debate within the AAP, with Bharti's response reflecting the party's expectations from its leaders.
