A parody page that started as satire has turned into a full-blown political outfit with several opposition leaders endorsing it. The Cockroach Janata Party, founded by Abhijeet Dipke, has gained substantial popularity in less than a week, surpassing the Bharatiya Janata Party's following on Instagram.
In a recent interview, Dipke spoke of the reasons behind the outfit's rising popularity, its agenda, and shared apprehensions of possible arrest upon arriving in India.
Dipke, who is currently in the US after graduating from Boston University, stated that he will be arrested as soon as he lands at Delhi airport. 'I feel that as soon as I land at Delhi airport, a convoy of Delhi Police will take me to Tihar Jail,' he said.
The satirical outfit has received support from several opposition leaders, including Mahua Moitra, Kirti Azad, and Akhilesh Yadav, among others. The Cockroach Janata Party has touched 12 million followers on Instagram, overtaking the BJP's 8.7 million followers on the platform.
