A cab driver in Gurugram, Haryana, was left shaken after a passenger, Jyoti Dalal, took him on a wild goose chase, refusing to pay the fare and threatening to file false charges against him. According to the cab driver, Ziauddin, Dalal booked a ride with him at 8 am on Tuesday and asked him to take her to Sector 31, then to the bus stand, and finally to Cyber City. Ziauddin alleged that he gave Dalal ₹700 when she asked for some money and made all the necessary payments for her food and drinks. However, when he asked her to pay the fare, she became enraged and threatened to accuse him of theft or molestation. Dalal allegedly created a scene at the Sector 29 police station, prompting Ziauddin to explain the situation to the authorities. This led to the realization that Dalal had a history of scamming taxi drivers and a salon, with previous incidents involving a ₹20,000 scam and a ₹2,000 unpaid fare. Sector 29 police station SHO Ravi Kumar confirmed that an FIR has been registered against Dalal under fraud and other sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The police are conducting a probe and expect to arrest Dalal soon. This incident comes just a month after a viral video showed a cab driver in Gurugram behaving rudely with a female passenger who had asked him to lower the music volume. The woman alleged that the driver had misbehaved with her and forced her to exit the cab. The recent cases highlight the need for increased vigilance and support for taxi drivers, who often find themselves in difficult situations with unruly passengers.
