Senior Congress leaders have dismissed speculation of a change in Karnataka's chief minister, stating that talks with the high command focused on the upcoming Rajya Sabha and council seats elections.
Party general secretary KC Venugopal said there was no truth to the speculations of a change in CM, adding that the discussions centered around the Rajya Sabha seats and council seats of Karnataka.
The Congress leader further stated that the candidates for these seats would be announced along with other states like Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Jharkhand.
The buzz around a leadership change in Karnataka resurfaced after CM Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar met the Congress leadership in Delhi, with several party legislators favoring Shivakumar for the top post.
