Delhi is bracing for another cold and smoggy day as the winter chill continues to grip the city. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the national capital's Air Quality Index (AQI) remains in the 'poor' category at 277, with several areas experiencing a decline in air quality. While some parts of the city, such as Anand Vihar and Chandini Chowk, have slipped into the 'very poor' category, other areas like Asok Nagar and IGI Airport have recorded slightly improved air quality. However, the overall air quality remains a concern. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that the cold-day conditions are likely to persist through tomorrow, providing no immediate relief to residents. Maximum temperatures in areas like Palam and Lodi Road have been recorded between 13°C to 16°C, marking the onset of a winter spell. As the city prepares for Republic Day celebrations, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the cold and poor air quality. Meanwhile, security personnel and parade participants continue to prepare for the upcoming national celebrations.
