Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has criticized Arvind Kejriwal's decision to boycott the Delhi High Court, calling it a 'poor joke'. Kejriwal had vowed to not appear before Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma, who is hearing the CBI review petition against him in the liquor policy case.

Gupta questioned the motives behind Kejriwal's actions, asking if the allegations against Justice Sharma benefited him. She also accused Kejriwal of being a 'culprit' and 'criminal entangled in the liquor scam'.

Kejriwal had written a letter to Justice Sharma, stating that he would not appear in the case either in person or through legal representation. He claimed that he had decided to adopt a path of protest inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, citing a perceived conflict of interest and bias.

However, the Delhi High Court rejected Kejriwal's plea for Justice Sharma's recusal, with the judge stating that a litigant's perception alone cannot be grounds for a judge to step aside.
