A Delhi court has granted regular bail to a 63-year-old man accused in a rape case, citing inconsistencies in the prosecution's case and a delay in lodging the FIR.
The accused had been in judicial custody since January 2, 2026, after being charged under sections 64(1) (rape) and 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The court noted the complainant's refusal to undergo an internal medical examination and her inability to specify the exact location of the alleged offence.
Additionally, the court pointed out discrepancies in call detail records and the complainant's submission before the court that she did not wish to pursue the case.
The accused was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs. 50,000 with one surety of like amount, with several conditions imposed, including keeping his mobile phone on at all times and not contacting prosecution witnesses.
