The Delhi high court has rejected the bail plea of two Indian Mujahideen members, Mohd Saquib Ansari and Waqar Azhar, who were accused of operating the Rajasthan module of the banned outfit.

The court observed that they were active members of the Indian Mujahidee and key operatives responsible for running its Rajasthan module, with links to the outfit's leadership in India and Pakistan.

The court noted that the seizures made in Jaipur and Jodhpur were substantial, including chemicals, electronic equipment, and IED components, which had the potential to cause significant damage.

The court further stated that the two men posed a flight risk and could impact other witnesses, and therefore, did not deserve to be released on bail.

The two were arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell in March 2014 and charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Indian Penal Code.

The case originated in November 2011, when police apprehended an Indian Mujahideen member whose interrogation led to the identification of several others.
