Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced the city's Heatwave Action Plan 2026 to tackle the soaring temperatures. The plan includes providing ORS solutions in schools, ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply, and setting up cool rooms in hospitals.

The plan also directs the transport department to carry drinking water on DTC buses and install high-pressure misting systems at bus stops. Labourers will receive water, caps, and gamchas, and will be exempt from work between 1 PM and 4 PM.

The weather department has issued a yellow alert for heatwave-like conditions in Delhi, with temperatures expected to reach 44°C. However, relief is expected from Tuesday with overcast skies and rain, bringing the maximum temperature down to 40-42°C.
